"Digital devil deeds"

Films: Evilspeak (1981)

Alias: Stanley Coopersmith

Type: Mystical

Location: Haunted home/Civilized area

Height/Weight: That of an average human.

Affiliation: Evil

Summary: What? Were you expecting us to make a trite "tech is the devil" joke? Don't even try it. Just know that this whole mess was the exception. Not the rule.

History: Like many Satanists, Father Esteban was not the most welcome person in the Dark Ages. His teachings didn't seem to mean a whole lot until the 20th century, when local military academy loser Stanley Coopersmith stumbled upon his writings in a church cellar. From there, Stanley ran the book by a computer to translate it, and soon, he became rather entrenched in the evils of Esteban. The computer then began to demand blood sacrifice to ensure the Satanist's return, something Stanley became rather okay with after the death of his puppy Fred...

Notable Kills: The evil imbues Stanley with the power to fling someone into a spiked chandelier. Also, demon boar attack in the shower.

Final Fate: After performing the ritual, Stanley gets possessed by Esteban, and with sword and demonic powers in hand, he kills all of his tormentors in nasty ways. Stanley is soon sent to an asylum for his actions, while his true spirit remains in the computer along with Esteban.

Powers/Abilities: Super strength, summoning demons, possession.

Weakness: None.

Scariness Factor: 3.5-There's something oddly hilarious about watching a diminutive guy like Stanley wielding a flaming sword and calling forth the forces of darkness. That said, your death will not be a fun one if Father Esteban is broken free once again...

Trivia: -The church used for the film was renovated all for it, and at one point made a priest there beg for God's guidance in a fit of confusion. The church went up in flames three days after production.

-If you thought the climax of this film was a little extreme, the original script called for more sex and violence. It wouldn't have helped the controversy that inevitably followed this film.
